On August 6, 2024<\/strong> the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Seven approved the US 301\/State Road (SR) 41 State Environmental Impact Report (SEIR) for the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study from Fowler Avenue to SR 56. The study is now complete, and the next phase (Design) has begun.<\/p>\n

Two public hearings were held for this study. The 1st Public Hearing was held on March 24, 2022, at the FDOT District 7 office. For more information on the 1st Public Hearing, please click here.<\/a> A 2nd Public Hearing for the US 301 PD&E Study was held on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, from 5:30 pm \u2013 7:30 pm at the FDOT District 7 office. The Public Hearing was offered in person with an option to attend virtually.<\/p>\n

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)<\/a> completed a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study<\/a> to consider roadway improvements along US 301 in Hillsborough and Pasco Counties. The project begins at Fowler Avenue and extends north to the State Road (SR) 56 intersection with US 301, a distance of 13.1 miles. The PD&E study involved developing roadway alternatives that widen US 301 from two to four lanes. The project team evaluated the engineering, social and environmental effects of widening the road and compared the effects for each alternative.<\/p>\n

US 301 is a major north-south roadway used for travel through Hillsborough and Pasco counties and provides access to many of the area\u2019s major roadways including I-75, I-4, SR 39, SR 56, SR 54 and SR 52. It is an important roadway in the overall Tampa Bay area as it is listed as an emergency evacuation route.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
