The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Seven, is conducting a feasibility study to evaluate a potential new interchange on Interstate-75 (I-75)/State Road (SR) 93A in Hillsborough County, Florida. The section of I-75 corridor being evaluated by the feasibility study is an existing six-lane limited access facility between the Moccasin Wallow Road (Rd)/County Road (CR) 683 interchange to the south and the College Avenue (Ave)/SR 674 interchange to the north. The specific study area for a potential interchange is centered along the I-75 corridor, bounded by the Manatee County line to the south and the Valroy Rd bridge to the north. A potential Ft Hamer Road extension north from Manatee County is being evaluated as the potential interchange with I-75.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the potential viability of a new interchange. Should the findings indicate that a new interchange is feasible, FDOT may undertake a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study in coordination with partner agencies and other stakeholders to further evaluate potential engineering, social, environmental, community, and other impacts in greater detail.
