Public Involvement

Public involvement is one of the most important elements of a PD&E study, and public participation is strongly encouraged. There are many ways for you to stay involved, such as regularly visiting the project website, attending the public meetings and the public hearing (see Project Schedule page), and requesting information by phone or email. In addition, you may request to be put on the project mailing list by contacting the project manager. Please check this page regularly for more information.

Public Hearing

A Public hearing for the Gandy Boulevard PD&E Study was held by the FDOT on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. A project newsletter was distributed to announce the public hearing to nearby landowners and individuals on the project mailing list. The results of the evaluation and the preferred alternative were presented at the public hearing. FDOT representatives were available to answer any questions regarding the project.

The hearing began with an open house at 5:30 p.m. and followed with a formal presentation and public comment period at 6:30 p.m. Following the formal portion, the informal open house resumed until 7:30 p.m. Written statements or exhibits submitted at the hearing, emailed, or mailed and postmarked by April 4, 2022, will become part of the official public hearing record.
