Public Involvement

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 held a Public Hearing on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm to present the proposed improvements being considered and allow the public to express concerns and make comments to be included in the project files.

The in person Public Hearing was held at:

Port Tampa Bay, Terminal 6
1331 McKay Street
Tampa, FL 33602

For more information on the Public Hearing, please visit the “Public Hearing” page.

Public involvement is one of the most important elements of the PD&E phase of development. It is very important for the public to provide comments to FDOT about the proposed US 41 improvements. There are many ways for you to stay involved, such as participating in small group meetings, project workshops, and a public hearing.

Project newsletters are mailed to all property owners within the study area as well as elected/appointed public officials at key points in the study. All project newsletters and mailings can be viewed here.

The mailing list includes:

  • All property owners located within 300 feet of US 41 and Causeway Boulevard’s centerline
  • Neighborhood and civic associations
  • Local elected and appointed public officials
  • Local, regional, and state agencies
  • Anyone requesting to be included on the mailing list

Upon request, the study team may also make presentations to local officials as well as hold casual, small group meetings with local and neighborhood groups. FDOT will provide information on the project status and illustrations of the proposed build alternatives at these meetings.
