Public Hearing

The Florida Department of Transportation’s District Seven held a public hearing on December 2, 2021, regarding the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study, WPI Segment No. 443368-2, for the proposed improvements to US 98/SR 35/SR 700 from CR 54 to US 301/SR 39 in Pasco County, a distance of approximately 8.6 miles.

This public hearing was held in person with an option to attend virtually to present information to and receive public input from interested persons regarding the proposed improvements to US 98. This public hearing was held on the following date:

5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Formal presentation: 6:30 p.m.

Citizens who chose to attend the virtual hearing session could do so through a computer, tablet or smartphone via GoToWebinar, a call-in number was not available. Virtual attendees registered online at: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/7781631235786033931.

The public hearing began at 5:30 p.m. with an informal open house. The formal portion of the public hearing began at 6:30 p.m., which provided attendees the opportunity to make formal verbal public comments. Following the formal portion, the informal open house resumed until 7:30 p.m.

The design concepts, display boards, and video presentation from the in-person session will be available for review online starting on November 29th, 2021. Draft project engineering and environmental reports will be available for public review from November 10th, 2021 to December 13th, 2021 at the following locations:

McKinley Drive, MS 7-500, Tampa, FL 33612, or provide them on the Send Us Your Comments page. All exhibits or statements postmarked on or before Monday, December 13th, 2021, will become part of the official public hearing record.

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by the FDOT pursuant to Title 23 of the United States Code, Section 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14th, 2016 and executed by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and FDOT.
